A Night of Stars: The Great Gatsby Gala invites audiences to experience an unforgettable night inspired by the opulence and energy of the Roaring Twenties.
Held on Friday, June 19th at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30pm) at the iconic Citadel Theatre, this spectacular event showcases a dynamic chorus of emerging performers who will quite literally “cut a rug” and “razzle-dazzle the joint.” Framed by the spirit of The Great Gatsby, the evening blends community, celebration and theatrical flair into a vibrant gala.
From the moment the doors open, guests will be immersed in a world of vintage elegance and high-energy entertainment. The gala chorus sets the tone with electrifying opening and closing numbers, while students from participating high schools take the stage throughout the evening, presenting show-stopping excerpts from their school productions. Together, these performances “button up” the celebration, showcasing the dedication, artistry, and passion of Alberta’s next generation of performers.
The evening also celebrates excellence across all areas of theatre making, with awards recognizing outstanding achievement in performance and technical production. Reviewer Awards further honour students who demonstrate thoughtful theatre reviewing and a deep engagement with the art form, highlighting the passion and dedication within Alberta’s youth theatre community.
